Guys i did not pickup Chris Johnsn, he had another good day 19 carries 109 yards no TDs, i kept J, Stewart 15 carries 71 yards , but 2 TD's what do you think??
I am biased for Stewart, but I think you did. He severly outperformed D'Angelo today & could get the starting role next week.
To me, the difference between him & C Johnson is that he will get the goal-line carries as he did today. L White is the goal-line back for Tenn. IF J Stewart gets the starting job, I think he is the best of the 2 options...he went a long way towards doing that today.
I agree, I still favor stewart heavily as I watched him pound the U of A in the pac-10. He is the better choice in the long run of the two especially with Delhomme taking a little pressure off of the run game to open up some more holes
I loved Stewart in college as well. He was great at Oregon. The other thing I like is that Carolina's offensive line has definitely improved with the addition of Otah.
Stewart's only negative is a potential lack of touches behind D'Angelo Williams. However, he went a long way in remedying that situation this afternoon. He ran much better than Williams today.
After this weeks performance, I'd have to say CJ and Stewart are equally as valuable. As jets said though, if he did enough to get the starting job, Stewart is the clear choice. He's the GL back now and could be more if given more carries.
I am just hoping he continues to do well, i read that Williams was so in effective in the first half Stewart started the 2nd half and did not come out, Chris Johnson does get a ton of touches but like the Jetman has said White comes in at the goaline
thaas -- you are correct about Stewart. I'm not sure if D'Angelo got any 2nd. half carries. He came in & gave the Panthers a big spark. He has good speed & runs strong. He's effective in the goal-line & just looks stronger & more talented than Williams.
If he can get the starting role with a majority of carries, I look for Stewart to have a monster rookie season the rest of the way. It will be interesting to see who starts for Carolina in Week 3.
After McFadden's huge day, Stewart would definitely have some competition for the ROTY, but if he is able to land and keep the starting job, I'd have to say that Jets made a great prediction because Stewart will win it. That offense is built for a RB of Stewarts ability and he could be a top 10 RB by the end of the season if he becomes the starter in the next few games.
Doomsday Dave -- I totally agree. Fargas' injury (like Chester Taylor's last year) might be the catalyst for D-Mac to have a monster season. I do think part of his success, however, was playing against the pitiful KC Chiefs. I like Carolina's overall offensive team better than Oaklands. So, if Stewart gets the starting nod, he'll be tough to beat for ROTY. That being said...D Mac will give him tremendous competition for sure.
I think the only thing that really hurts McFadden is Michael Bush, who is a monster at the goal line. I could see McFadden being taken out for him at times. No one will replace Stewart.
As far as the supporting cast for McFadden, that shouldn't matter. Look how good Fargas did last year with the same (or worse) group, and he doesn't have the physical skills McFadden brings.
It's definitely a race between these two if they both get the starting nod, but they have some competition from Chris Johnson and DeSean Jackson...possibly Eddie Royal as well. That's just from an offensive perspective. There were a lot of good rookies this year that have a legit shot at it.
Ya i agree but i look what happened to AP last year as the year wore on teams forced Jackson to make a play & stacked the box AP did little or nothing last half of the year, IMO this cough happen to McFadden
Can you drop someone and hold on to both guys?

Your Right Jetman.. that darn RBBC, but on the goaline i watched Stewart was in there
Yes, he got all the goal-line touches today...which is a great sign for all Stewart owners.

can we all say Rookie of the year....
As predicted by the Jetman & his crystal ball

thaas -- thanks for the plug!

The only thing that i think that hurts McFadden is the Raider supporting cast, they are NOT very good, where as i like th people around Stewart

There's no argument with that...I could see McFadden's production going down when teams do that to the Raiders, excellent point.
