The Newark Star-Ledger is reporting that Giants star DE, Osi Umenyiora is going to have season ending knee surgery. That's quite a blow to the defense i picked in my expert league draft a few weeks back.
Yes, it is. It is a real shame when serious injuries are suffered in meaningless preseason games.
The New York papers are already clammoring for the Giants to get Strahan out of retirement. I doubt that will happen, but you never know.
Merriman of San Diego also may have some issues. If he can't play this season, there are a lot of quality fantasy defenses that have suffered blows this offseason.
I would say pretty slim...but you never know. He could get the competitive bug again. The Giants might be inquiring about his services given this Umenyiora injury.
I may be wrong but isn't Strahan going through a divorce? If so, a nice offer from the Giants could get him to come back and play. He'd be sort of like a knight in shining armor to NYG faithful as well.
He is going through a divorce & I think he lost quite a bit of money in the settlement. I believe he still could play at a high level if he wants to. I'm sure the Giants will inquire about his services...and they can sure use him now.

I'm not excited he's out but I am excited that a member of my IDP league picked him one pick before me.
What are the chances Strahan comes back??
