Matt Leinart went 4 for 12 with 3 Int's last night and then quickly left the locker room after the game before reporters had a chance to pose any questions to him.  Two of the Int's came on deep passes but the one Int where he scrambled right was a poor decision and throw.  He played well in his two games prior to last night so we'll have to see how he bounces back from this performance as his confidence looked shaky last night.  It doesn't appear that Whisenhunt is going to make any changes based off of one bad performance.  The Cards have a relatively soft schedule to open the season so Leinart should be able to post some numbers but if he struggles during that time, a switch to Warner would seem very possible.

Joe Q -- oh yeah...just thrilled!  Wink

Leinart has a lot of upside & downside.  He could lose the job to Warner.  However, if he can win the job, he really could put up good numbers assuming Boldin doesn't get traded.  His performance last night wasn't encouraging.  I believe he will be the starter in Week 1, but there will be a quick leash if he's not effective.

Hey, I also thought Kitna would have a good season last season.  The Lions struggled running the ball which didn't help matters. Kitna's numbers actually weren't  that terrible last year except for his propensity to throw the ball to guys who don't have a Lion on their helmet. Laughing

I agree with you on Leinart.  The Cards are looking to win now and like I said, if Leinart struggles in the early going in what should be some very winnable games, he's likely to get pulled in favor of Warner.

All I can say is if there is indeed a "Jetman Curse", then Drew Brees & his fantasy owners should all be worried.  Wink

Kitna did have some decent yardage #s last year, but he had a less-than-stellar TD to Int ratio to say the least.  Roy Williams was also disappointing for them last season.  Maybe they'll turn it around in 2008.

Darn you Jetman don't say that... Brees has looked GREAT in the preseason, IMO

I don't think you have anything to worry about, thaas.  Brees is a stud.  As you said, you probably will only be playing Kitna during Brees' bye week.
