The Sports Bar checks in / Introduction / Future of the show

For those of you who followed our show for the past 51 shows, we thank you for taking the journey with me and my cohost Big P. As we announced on our Friday 3/27/09 show, Big P will be placing himself on hiatus for an indefinite amount of time which put me in the uncomfortable position of making a decision to go forward with the show or close the doors of the Sports Bar one last time that night.

Having conceived the show idea initially and doing a test show before bringing Big P aboard, I've got to say, we had a phenomenal run as The Sports Bar with JC & Big P. Along the way, we've met some fantastic people who have helped shape the show via their regular contributions and calls into our live program. Alas, I've gotten comfortable with having the show to look forward to at least twice a week. Now, during my search for a permanent replacement, I find myself putting me out there more than I ever had to when starting the show initially.

That takes me to this blog. My good friend on BTR, Southern Eagle recommended I write about the topics that I talk about on the show and advised me that this would be a great vehicle to get my reloaded shows name out there. So, here I am, giving you an idea of what happened in the past and my vision of whats to come...The Sports Bar, Reloaded. I've no doubt a new cohost is lurking in the wings and if not, I'll go by way of others on BTR who still put out a quality product as a solo operation.

In the interim, I want to thank Bear Fan Ron and Mud for their assistance in playing subsitute co-host for me in the coming shows! Your kindness and generosity helped to keep me going while I weighed my decision to soldier on. For the rest of the Sports Bar audience, keep your eyes peeled and ear to the ground as I (with help from the above mentioned talent) reboot the Sports Bar and will deliver another fine episode on Monday without skipping a beat!

Additionally, I want to thank Southern Eagle for reaching out to me and cutting me into this opportunity early! The best way to start any endeavor is to be there when the ground is still wet, shovel in hand, ready to do some business. I've got plenty of energy to go around and look forward to helping you make this website a success!
