Here we go again

Just read my old buddy Todd Heap tweaked his hammy in OTA's,   Dave i know you say don't put a guy on you do not draft list, but even you have to admit with this one, better be VERY careful??

Yep, I'd be very careful

Yep, I'd be very careful with Heap and would not take him as my #1 TE.  I would draft him if the value is right though.  I'd take him as a #2 and if he catches fire early in the year, he'd be good trade bait or good depth.

I agree...I wouldn't take

I agree...I wouldn't take Heap as my #1 TE, but he is a good solid #2 backup.

There are certainly a lot of better options at that position -- Witten, Gates, Gonzo, Winslow, etc.

And...of course...watch out for my man Dustin Keller.  If he's legit, I believe the Jets will use him A LOT.  I'm going to keep my eye on him in the Preseason.

Do you really think so??

Do you really think so?? Have the Jets used there T.E. much is the pasted?

We haven't used one much in

We haven't used one much in the recent past because we haven't had a good one.  Keller already looks like the most skilled TE we've had in a very long time.  He could prove to be a nice security blanket for either Clemens or Pennington.  He is almost like a WR as he is small, yet very fast for a TE.

All I know is that he isn't a great blocker.  So, the Jets didn't trade up in the first round to get him if they didn't plan on using him quite a bit in the passing game.

He is a rookie, so he might not be legit.  However, I think he could be a big sleeper TE in Fantasy Football...and I'm hoping he will really help the Jet offense in 2008.

He certainly wowed scouts at

He certainly wowed scouts at the Combine.  I think he'd be a good player to take a flyer on in the late rounds.
